JRSO Visit

On Friday, Glaitness Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSO) came to visit P1/2R.

We heard from them about the importance of road safety, and things we need to think about when walking to and from school, and around the town.

Thanks to Cierra, Darby and Jack for taking the time to speak with us.

Maths Measuring

In maths, we are investigating measure, and are practising our measuring skills.  We have discussed what we know about measuring and the tools that we might use.  We discussed length, and thought about the length of everyone in our class.  Here we are sorted from tallest to smallest:

Over the remaining weeks, we will be developing our understanding of measure, and thinking about different measurements and what they mean.

Momotaro The Peedie Peach Boy

This Term we have all been involved in a class 1/2 and 3 production of the Japanese Folk Story Momotaro - The Peach Boy. We have each had different roles in the play, including Choir, Ogres, Villagers, Farmers and Narrators.

We learned about the story, did some drawings and wrote summaries of the stories.

We learned the words to the songs and those of us who had speaking parts had to remember what to say and do on the stage.

We practiced lots and lots!!

We made props including a giant peach, hats, backgrounds and costumes.

Dress Rehearsal

Some of us were a little bit nervous but we really enjoyed performing the play to parents at the Japan open afternoon. It was such good fun!
