Traditional Tales - Term 3

This term we have been learning about Traditional Tales.  We learned that these are old stories that are often passed down through the generations and different versions of the same story are retold.  We had a think about stories we are familiar with and came up with quite a list including;
Goldilocks and the 3 bears, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Rapunzel, 3 Billy Goats, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Gingerbread Man, The 3 Little Pigs, Robin Hood, The Little Mermaid,
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

We will be playing writing, reading, talking and listening to many of these stories this term. We are also going to be writing our own stories thinking in particular about our characters, the settings, problems and solutions.

Loose Parts Play with the 3 Billy Goats Gruff

Construction - Building houses for the 3 Little Pigs

We thought about the Characters, Setting, Problem and Solution in the Goldilocks Story.

We made a list of what we would take to Little Red Riding Hood's Granny in our baskets.

We tasted some porridge. We made a graph to show how many children like porridge and those who don't.

The girls completed this 100 piece jigsaw in less than 10 minutes!!

The writing table was busy with children designing WANTED posters. There were a few different villains to be found and some big rewards on offer to those who helped to find them!
